thought it would be quite interesting to write on how boundaries can be drawn or expressed through labels...
a lot of my close friends are guys and i've learnt the maybe-not-so-hard way that there are measures and things that i can do to indicate spatiality and my inclination in the friendship or relationship that i have with someone...
just like when i call kor, it is a reminder that he is like a sibling to me. he can be very considerate and loving towards me but yet when i call kor, it is like a reminder that i am not supposed to have any romantic interest towards him...
and when i call kk peng you or friend, it actively reminds me that we are no more den just really good friends who can share and open up to each other. but this is by far how much our relationship can go - bosom friends...
by doing this, it can save a lot of hurt and pain as i grow these friendships and relationships over time. it is really heart wrenching to lose your good friends, esp the closer ones, all but no thanks to the chemistry of romantic interest...
and as i read i kissed dating goodbye... it reminded me of the exclusiveness that girls tend to enjoy when a guy likes her beyond just friends. the attention, love and care showered upon her there and then in the pursuit can be all that a girl dreams of. but yet, it is a wrong thing to do as the stakes being involved here is the feelings and emotions of the guy. there is no fault with the guy liking a girl but yet, much discretion and wisdom is needed to be exercised by both parties to spare each other the agony at the end.
the rule of the thumb, stay away from the exclusiveness if you are not ready to commit. don't be part of the dating game where pple just end up toying with each other's feelings, at least that is what happens most of the time...
