had a great QT today.
was praying for people that i usually don't pray for.
it is a different experience in itself.
when was the last time you took eyes off yourself and had a prayer that was people-centred?
it is amazing how your own love tank gets filled when you are praying for others.
qt is definitely not a time where we just come with our list of wants.
it is good that all of us have our dreams and desires, but isn't it better to be able to live out the greater calling, a life that is greater than all that we can think or imagine?
in our lives, prayer unlocks many many things.
indeed, prayer can change nations.
through prayer, you begin to birth forth new things into the spiritual realm.
by praying persistently and fervently, you begin to nurture what you have birthed forth in the spiritual, making it ready to be birthed into the physical.
from the area of things not seen to things that we can see.
for those that who struggle with prayer, some tips and pointers that has helped me:
a. ask the Holy Spirit for help
ref to John 14:26 and Romans 8:26
the Holy Spirit is the best Helper and Teacher that you can ever find.
my most powerful prayers are those that i allowed the Spirit to pray through me. ^^
b. pray from your heart
ref to Matthew 6:7
seriously, God never looks out for those who use bombastic words.
this is not a language test.
God looks at your heart as you pray, not the words that you use.
c. pray consistently
practice makes perfect.
the more you pray, the more you are used to it.
d. praying in the Spirit
ref to Rom 8:26
sometimes, we have language limitations.
by praying in the Spirit, these limitations are overcome and help to make prayer more effective.
but praying in language aids in our understanding so praying in tongues is never an excuse to not pray in language.
