okiez. second day of the new year. yet another busy day.
had to get up real early to aes for workshop. pretty draining as i had to run thru the set of 92 qns for at least 3 times. but i did have my share of harvest too frm the presentation to the students by danny.
the story of the woodcutter...
once a man was retrenched but managed to find a rather well-paying job as a woodcutter. so on the first day of his work, he chopped down 18 trees and was handsomely paid. he den thought to himself that the next day, he shall get up earlier so dat he wld be able to chop more trees and earn more money. however to his surprise, he only managed to chop down 15 trees dat day. puzzled, he decided to get up even earlier the next day. subsequently, he chopped down even fewer trees. this persisted and the woodcutter got frustrated and went to tender his resignation. his boss den asked him why. he explained what has been happening and got really frustrated.
the boss then asked for the woodcutter's axe. he then showed the woodcutter what he has failed to notice. the axe he had has already lost its edge and much more work and effort has to be put in to cut down one tree.
isn't it true that we are always so busy that we find it a challenge to take time off to sharpen our edge? but truth of the matter is dat we all need to learn to take time off to spend solitude time to think, reflect and ponder. it will make us more effective and efficient person. at the same time, moulding our own characters. personally, i will try to have more solitude time this coming year to do more evaluation. ^^
danny opened up an offer for me to volunteer at awwa. but it will probably take some time b4 i arrive at a decision. dun want to be busy endlessly and not knowing what i am busy abt. gg to align my year according to the goals that i want to reach this year...
rest of the day was spent in office b4 gg down to fellowhip with FOTS. they are contemplating of buying a nintendo wii to put at samuel's hse. how cool can it get? but had fun at the rooftop garden with them after dinner. played games and did a whole lot of stuff. went for beancurd after dat. yummy riceballs!
generally the day has been alright just tired. but i've learnt the importance of nt living by obligations but by decisions. had a chat with shunai yday and know i'm clear of what to do and where i will be heading for with dp and dl was overall good. *yawns*
long day tmr. office by 630. tution and visitation thereafter....
on a side note, i think the devil is really unhappy with me. there is a growing no of attacks on the the cg. counselling almost everyday. ruiz, jiayou!
been thinking quite a far bit but am too tired now to blog. another takeaway i had today was on
motivations. will try to take time to talk abt it tmr... *yawns*
