we had our zone thksgiving yesterday night. and the theme this year was high school musical. as such, the programme for the day was filled with duets by the talents in the zone. was rocking!
aside frm all the fun we had, i was tremendously moved as well. of course the time of thksgiving is also the time for appreciation of the ppl in the zone. yinling won the vanessa hudgens look-alike award, partly due to the thunderous cheers we gave. so happy for her. many others were nominated and so proud of all of them frm the valedictorian nominee Ariel to the new kid on the block, Zihui and most courageous award Alicia and more. all of ur are just amazing and ur did awesome in this year.
the most servanthood award tis year was given to hg and the presenter of the award is yang, as he has served tirelessly in church and events. proud of having them as my good
friends and at the same time, did feel that it is a bit funny. but congrats to them being recognized.
for myself, i breakthrued and was nominated for the measure of love award and the best member award for the night. i was the winner of the best member award but it cldn't have happen without a whole list of people. and here it goes (not in any particular order)...
Barry... for believing in me when i lacked in faith and at times when i really wanted to give up. if nt for ur faith and encouragement, i wld nt have made it thru these two years and grown as much as i did. your wisdom has always been a source of inspiration. your acts of kindness and graciousness have in turn taught me to have faith in the potential in pple which they cld nt see or believe in. you have been an awesome leader and friend. thanks for listening to me in the early hours of the day and in the wee hours of the night, being there to pray for me and give me counsel. xie xie. terima kasih.
Melvin... despite the short period of time that i've known you, you have showed me the importance of being relational and what does it mean to care. tks for accompanying me down to ikea even when u were sick to get the stuff for cg thksgiving. ur stories have inspired me in my faith and love towards God as well. thks for all your positive affirmation and faith in my potential. frm u, i see what it means to give extravagant praise. your sincerity with ppl is evident and has challenged me to continue to impact lives of the ppl ard me thru greater love and sincerity.
Kenn and Jing Ye... for serving alongside together with me. putting up with my demands, temper and long-winded talking. it hasn't been easy coping with all the changes in the cg amidst our busy schedule and studies.
Kenn: thanks for all your words of encouragement and glad that i have found a friend in you.
Ye: although we may have differing viewpts, i'm glad that we can always reconcile at the end of the day.
Alicia, Zihui, Yinling, Crystal, Geraldine, Peiyi... for giving me to a chance to love you and be part of your lives. i thank you for your love for me, the little things that you did for me has blessed me greatly. just want to let you know that albeit short msgs or blessings, they are not forgotten. thank you for allowing me to share your lives and listen to you. it is a true honor and privilege. thanks. and i'm awed at all of your willingness to come along with me from washing toilets in the camp to coming over to my place for prayer meets. it is a true joy to see your grow in the year. let's continue to grow into woman of destiny in 2008! you are truly a blessing from God into my life.
Ziying, Shi Ning... two of the latest additions to our e141 family. thanks for being so welcoming and open to me. your company has brought me much joy. thanks for making me ur friend. really do hope to get to know u more in 2008.
and of course all the rest of e141 for making me a part of your lives and allowing me to be your friend... (more abt each and everyone within tis week, i promise)
and wld really like to welcome ziying, shining, derek, sin yee, xin yi, youxian and junxian for joining the e141 family. so glad that we are now as one. =) e141 also received the best cg of the year. truly awesome cause it has been a few years since we last received the award. we had 15% growth, 132% tithing alongside stats for bible studies etc. it seems like this is a preview to 2008, with greater breakthrus and multiplication. let us work as one, with one heart, one mind and one spirit to mulitply the cg many fold and get the award again. jia you!
barry had tears in his eyes when we sang auld lang syne. no words can ever express how much i appreciate his leadership and friendship having stood by me and encouraged me in the past 4 years. thanks! you have been really awesome!
went to hug wenling at the end of the day. really love to be ard her. she is very loving and truly a wise woman. somehow whenever i see her smile, my spirit just gets lifted. she is a true woman of God.
during the thksgiving, wenling also challenged members to rise up to become leaders in 2008. at the moment, there seems to be an answer to a question that has been posed over the last two years. i know i wanted to shout it out to tell barry. there was peace in my heart as the decision was made and expectancy and excitement was birthed forth. i wanted to tell barry at the end but he said that there was no need to. he knew already and spirit to spirit can le. ^^
in the deepest of hearts, i believe in the power of confession so here it goes...
I WANT TO BECOME A CGL IN 2008.!
it will nt be easy. there will be stretching of personal limits and also the need for tremendous growth and great breakthrus. but i stand willing. the decision makes the year a much easier one to live by since i know now that this is my call. i am getting excited...
change is an essential for growth...
