went for JAMS today to cover the event that they were having. it was a new experience to have been back there since christmas almost 4 to 5 years back.
since i was there to cover the event, i was free to roam around. and i was impacted by how free they were in their praises and worship to God. even more so how simple everything was to them. they had all liberty to jump, stand, cheer and danced as they praised God. like what the Bible tells us that where the Spirit of God is, there is liberty. i wondered how many people in church really give full expression in their praises to God. or are we just too restrained because we are afraid of what others might think and that we might sing a wrong note? i'm not very sure exactly but i am glad that i can always make a joyful noise to the Lord! :)
i think more than just what i saw, i was touched by the word as well. it then came to me once again how simple our faith and walk with God should be like - like that of Abraham. when God said go, he just went, not even knowing where he was going to. there probably had a hundred and one questions burning in his mind but he just chose to obey. i was challenged to have the abraham kind of faith - one that is speaks of continual trusting in Him. i think it is also this that makes the verse - His yoke is easy and His burden is light, even more real and applicable. let's walk by faith everyday, trusting God that as we give our best, He will give us His best in return!
