the chinese new year celebration has almost come to an end and it has been a great time to rest and recharge. this year seems rather short on the festive mood but the usual routine continues somewhat.
spent new year's eve and new year's day at both grandma's place. i realized that a lot of grandmothers have been falling down the past few days (current count is three in the last week). my grandma's hand is really swollen and she can barely do anything with it. we really need to pray for protection for our grandmothers!
and the greatest jubilation this new year is that daddy came over on new years' day! it has been almost decades (and i mean really a decade) that daddy celebrated cny with the family. i'm glad that he is starting to get connected with the family once again. i pray that this will mark of even more changes and that he'll be involved in the family, starting afresh.
it has also been quite an opportunity to spend some time with my sisters. we are all in very different stages of life and considering the world differences in our personalities and interests, time together has grown to be very rare, especailly with me being in the far west. look forward to more sis time together!
and i also got to spend time with wei and peiyu. thanks wei for helping me to set goals for this sem. it gives me added motivation with a target to go for:
Language & Society : A+
Research Methodoloy : B+
Phonetics & Phonology : B
Mastering Communication : A+
