was just smsing jasmine about the charges for a tuition assignment. she made a comment to charge according to what you are worth for. simply because people are buying your time.
was then reminded of what michael taught me about a year ago about forming principles to live our lives by and to stick to them. otherwise, we'll usually cave in and become conform to how this world is, living by convienence and not conviction.
we need to know what each of us are standing for. being easy going does not equate to having loose morals and principles. it is important that each of us find the cause to fight for, the rules each of us live by. it is within the order that we can develop, grow and progress without losing our souls and continue to lead fulfilled lives.
and on the topic of time, i realised that i really dislike people who take things for granted, be it favours or the time of others. i need to learn to draw time frames of whom i give my time to and what do i do with the time that people give to me. it is not so much of being calculative but being discerning of a life with a purpose. but to qualify, there are certain things that does not have a timeframe tied to them like them with my family, friends and members. end of the day, i don't want to reach a place where i have a lot of achievements to only realise that i lost out on all the relationships that are dear to me.
i pray that i learn to treasure the time that people give to me, not to waste them. at the same time to really inculcate a lifestyle of punctuality and promptness to not waste time...
one of the most precious commodity that you can never recycle is wasted time...
